Description A Sterling silver souvenir spoon made for the Silver Jubilee of King George V. The bowl has an attractive portrait of the King and Queen Mary. There is a good quality enamelled royal coat of arms at the top of the spoon. Length 12.9 cm. Weight 21gm Hallmarks: Birmingham 1934-5, Mappin and Webb. Marks include the double head mark specially in celebration for this Jubilee Condition Excellent, bright condition, with only minor fine surface scratching from handling. The set just back from our silversmith where there was a professional silver soldered repair on the teapot’s spout and some removal of dents or dimples. Reading thusly: HAND CHASED, next to the STERLING mark and GORHAMS trademark stamps. A VISIT TO THE DINING ROOM… A LOOK AT THE KETTLE KETTLE BURNER and MARK UNDERNEATH A LOOK AT THE COFFEE POT & TEAPOT Gorham made a basic set just like this without repousse of any sort. In fact, we sold a that model just two weeks ago….a five piece set. In this auction however, each piece is similarily decorated with repousse scrolls and floral sprays. Large reserve areas within a cartouche are unused and still allow for you to personalize the set if desired with your family crest or initials. A LOOK AT THE SUGAR BOWL, CREAM PITCHER & WASTE BOWL. LARGE SILVER PLATED TRAY As indicated, the set is in exemplary condition. An asterisk regarding the tray is in order however. It is plated and does have minor signs of wear. A couple wear spots and a few very minor discolorations. However, it’s a huge, appropriately designed tray that matches perfectly! A perfect backdrop to the sterling pieces! Because it matches so well and good matching trays are ,at best, hard to come by. So we’re simply offering the tray to make the package complete. Besides…any minor imperfections are covered by the sterling serving pieces. Indeed, the set is nearly new. Showroom condition.
